Term 4 is jam-packed with ‘lasts’, followed closely by many ‘firsts’ for Carey students. In October, we sadly farewelled the Year 12 Class of 2017. For some time they had been talking about their last sports match for Carey, their last House session, last assembly and even last ever class.

We nod our head in agreement as we hear the African proverb, ‘it takes a village to raise a child’, and this can lead us to contemplate the nature of that village. For example, what are the characteristics of a village that enable a child to become a fully engaged adult?
