Frequently asked questions

Carey Academy

What is Carey Academy?

Carey Academy is a learning and community‑engagement hub that unites workshops, events, internships and networking opportunities under one banner – helping alumni, parents and friends of Carey learn, connect and advance their careers.

Who can take part in Carey Academy programs?

Most activities are open to Carey alumni, current and past parents, staff and friends of Carey. Some programs and events (e.g. the alumni Internship Program) target specific groups. Please check individual pages for eligibility.

How do I apply for an internship?

Young alumni (up to six  years out of school) can complete the online Internship Application Form (Link TBC). You will need to upload your resume and outline your interests; we’ll then match you to suitable host businesses.

What are the requirements to host an intern?

Hosts commit to offering at least 150 hours of meaningful work (roughly 20 working days), providing supervision and completing a brief post‑placement review. Register using the Host Registration Form and our team will guide you from there.

Is there a cost to participate?

Most Carey Academy events are free, thanks to the support of the School and our Carey community. If a fee applies, it will be clearly noted at registration.

How do I list my business in the Carey Business Directory?

Visit the Business Directory, click ‘Add Your Business’, and complete the short form. Listings are free for alumni, parents and friends of Carey.

What kinds of professional‑development seminars will be offered?

Topics change throughout the year and may include future careers, innovation, AI, leadership and industry‑specific panels. Check the Events page for the latest schedule.

Can I speak at an event?

Complete the Guest Speaker Expression‑of‑Interest form and our team will contact you when opportunities align with your expertise.

How will I be kept informed of new events?

Current parents will receive updates in Daily Messages and Carey newsletters. Alumni and past families will be informed through dedicated newsletters throughout the year. Opportunities will also be promoted on Carey’s social media channels.

Who can I contact from the Carey Academy team?
