Carey Academy Internship Program

The Carey Academy Internship Program is an exciting initiative designed to provide valuable, real-world work experience for young alumni, while leveraging the strength of the Carey community to create meaningful career pathways.

For employers, the program offers fresh talent, energy and new perspectives while also providing a meaningful way to give back by hosting interns and strengthening their connection with Carey.

Program objectives:

  • Provide meaningful career development opportunities for young alumni.
  • Strengthen connections within the Carey community by linking alumni with host organisations.
  • Build a professionally rewarding and engaging internship experience that supports long-term career growth.

Information for interns

If you're a Carey alum up to six years out of school, the Internship Program offers the chance to gain hands-on experience in a real workplace. You'll be matched with a business aligned to your interests and goals, giving you valuable exposure, mentoring and a head start in your career. Internships are a minimum of 150 hours and may be paid or volunteer-based, depending on the host.

Information for hosts

Hosting a Carey intern is a rewarding way to support the next generation while gaining fresh insights and energy for your business. Hosts commit to offering at least 150 hours of meaningful work, providing supervision and completing a short post-placement review. We’ll promote your opportunity, help match you with candidates and support you throughout the process.

How it works

  1. Register as a host through our online form.
  2. Promotion to alumni: the internship opportunity will be reviewed and promoted to Carey’s young alumni through targeted channels.
  3. Candidate selection: top candidates will be shortlisted and shared with the host for interview and final selection.
  4. Onboarding and internship: the host will enter into an agreement directly with the selected intern.
  5. Program feedback: at the conclusion of the internship, hosts will be invited to provide feedback to support the ongoing development of the program.

This internship program is a Carey Academy initiative.
