Get ready for an exciting journey ahead as Carey commits to achieving Net Zero. This ambitious goal showcases Carey’s dedication to our strategic priority Sustainable Futures. Following a review of the 2022 Sustainability Baseline Report (Baseline Report) in February 2023, the Carey Board enthusiastically endorsed the plan. This decision reflects Carey's steadfast commitment to leading positive change and reducing our carbon footprint.
In collaboration with CERES Consulting, we developed a Sustainability Baseline Report to summarise environmental data and lay the groundwork for future improvements. The Baseline Report outlines key initiatives, including the development of a Sustainability Plan for the path to Net Zero. This plan will detail specific actions to reduce emissions from energy, transport and waste; conserve water; and increase recycling and biodiversity. It will also address sustainable operations, education programs and community engagement, ensuring that sustainability is integrated into all aspects of Carey's operations and culture.
The Sustainability Plan will act as a roadmap for actions over three years, supported by quarterly monitoring and reporting from 2025 onwards. This robust monitoring process will ensure that Carey's carbon emissions are regularly and consistently measured, allowing for timely reporting on yearly targets.
