As we reach the half-way point of the APS summer season, I’m delighted to report that Carey summer sports teams across the board have performed brilliantly! Special mention to our rowing crews and First teams, who have been training hard since October last year and are now reaping the benefits with some very impressive performances. Our First Girls Year 10 Rowing Crew were crowned state champions a fortnight ago and our First Boys Volleyball Team sit atop of the APS premiership ladder with only three games left to play.
Results aside, what has been so pleasing has been the sheer joy our students are experiencing just being out there after what was such a frustrating year in 2020. It has given us all a great sense of perspective and gratitude for all that is good about a school sport program – the connections we’re making, the fun we’re having and the lessons we’re learning sit perfectly within a true Carey experience.
Well done to all students and our amazing coaches and team managers and good luck for the rest of the season!
