Throughout the term, we’ve seen our community come together to collect second-hand cricket equipment for a good cause.
This year, a Melbourne family started 2nd Innings Cricket, an initiative to recycle old cricket gear by donating it to disadvantaged Australian kids who love cricket.
The team at 2nd Innings Cricket work closely with Reclink, an organisation that provides low or no-cost sports, recreation and art opportunities to people experiencing hardship or disadvantage. The collection of equipment from Carey students and families will continue to support the great work that Reclink do to help promote physical activity amongst this community.
As a cricket community we wanted to come together and collect what we could to help support this wonderful cause to ensure that everyone has access to playing cricket regardless of their situation. We’re excited to be able to contribute a substantial amount of gear at the end of Term 1.
If you have any old cricket gear in good nick collecting dust in your garage that you would like to give to someone experiencing disadvantage, please email 2ndinningscricket@gmail.com
