The Grutzner Centre for Learning and Innovation Library is a great place to learn and study. It is open from 7.30am each day and closes at 6.00pm Monday to Thursday with a 4.00pm closing on Fridays. Here are some tips from the Library team on how to get the most from your studying:

Studying before scheduled classes begin could be a good study habit to adopt. If you are a morning person, getting in early and finding a quiet spot in the basement level of the library in one of the many individual carrels could kick start your day. More of an afternoon person? Why not organise a study session with student colleagues at the end of the day in the purpose-built PERMA rooms complete with whiteboards and screens to assist the learning process.

Take advantage of the former Carey students who come in to tutor senior students in the library one afternoon a week. Each week the Senior School Curriculum Office advertises which tutors are coming and what their subjects are. These tutors are always keen to help and easy to approach.

Find out what books, e-books and online material the library has in the subjects you study. Further reading of relevant resources found in the library will enhance your understanding of any given subject or assignment.

Need help with research, referencing and adding citations? The library team is ready to assist. Make an appointment using the Library Requests email or Ask a Librarian link on the online library catalogue.

Library openings in the holidays between Terms 2 and 3 and for two weeks between Terms 3 and 4 means senior students have the opportunity to continue to use the library as their preferred study space while also having access to all the library’s resources and well-trained library staff who can assist with research and study needs.

Contact the CLI Library if you have any queries.
