During this period of social distancing and home isolation, events like the JSPA Mothers Day Breakfast could easily just be cancelled. However, ‘necessity is the mother of invention’ and rather than cancel this much-loved event, the JSPA decided to take the event online in 2020. Junior School children were encouraged to make their mum breakfast and complete a Kahoot challenge with the theme ‘Iconic Mothers of the Big and Small Screen’.
Approximately 40 participants took part in the Kahoot Challenge. Special mentions go to Jacqui Douglas, our only classroom teacher to participate, and the Carr family who had all five family members complete the challenge! The results have been tallied and the winners are:
We also had a House points competition, which included points for the overall winners (three points for first, two points for second and one point for third), one House point for each participant who completed the quiz, as well as one point for the fastest response to each question. The results of the House points competition have been tallied and the winners are:
The JSPA thanks the many people who contributed to the success of this event. In particular, the JSPA would like to thank Janine de Paiva, Patrick Hansen and Grace Thompson for recording their messages, Kylie Taig from ICT for all of her technical support, Julie Raftopolous for her general support and guidance, and Audrey Duncan for preparing the Kahoot challenge. Thanks also go to the JSPA’s own Geordie Nehme, Nicole Poustie, Ariadne Bilardi and Marie Cellante.
We hope that Mothers Day 2020 was a memorable one for you and your loved ones.
