Friends of Carey Music (FOCM) are honoured to announce the establishment of a new bursary for 2021, which is open to vocal students at any year level. This scholarship is named after Karen Murray, a Carey parent and President of FOCM, whose love of song and the performing arts is remembered and celebrated.
FOCM now funds four bursaries annually, and it is our fundraising work which allows us to offer these opportunities to our outstanding Carey music students. Our major fundraising activity is happening now - The annual Christmas Tree Sale.
Our Christmas trees are freshly cut and delivered to Carey on the same day, ready for sale on Saturday 5 December. Prices and more details can be found at on TryBooking. Pick-up location will be at one of Carey's Kew campuses and will adhere to any COVID-19 restrictions at the time. A limited number of delivery spots are also available.
This sale is open to everyone, not just Carey staff and families. Please share with your friends!
And speaking of friends – the FOCM committee wish to thank Nick Mulder for his fabulous work with us and wish him everything good for his future.
Nick has been an inspiration to the Carey music community, with an ever-increasing number of student musicians and ensembles, and expansion of venues, repertoire and horizons. His humour, honesty, enthusiasm, and commitment to FOCM has meant we have been able to assist in this growth, with initiatives like Jazz at the Copa, Year 12 musician gifts, forums and information nights.
We hope everyone has a wonderful last term and holiday, and we are looking forward to seeing many of you at the musicals, recitals and concerts next year.
