Performing Arts - 2019 Music Tour to China

2019 Music Tour to China
Following on from the success of our recent tour to Adelaide and regional South Australia, the Music Department is delighted to announce an 18-night tour of China. This trip will feature performances in major cities in China and Hong Kong and will take place in the September holidays in 2019. The tour is open to current Year 8–10 students.

Please see the draft itinerary and tour conditions and the expression of interest form. Please note that the due date for applications is Friday 17 August.

Senior School Play
The stories of the Brothers Grimm are turned on their heads in this fast-paced, rollicking ride as two narrators and their actors attempt to combine in one evening, all 209 tales ranging from classics like Snow White, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel to more bizarre, obscure stories like The Devil’s Grandmother and The Girl Without Hands. A wild, free-form comedy like none seen before at Carey!

This is one for the whole family to come and see and tickets are available now.

Victorian School Music Festival
Carey’s concert band program is amongst the biggest in the state with over 480 students being involved from Year 4 to Year 12. A number of these ensembles will participate in the Victorian School Music Festival over the next fortnight and we wish them the very best for their performances.

Whole School Concert
Carey’s biennial Whole School Concert is only a month away. Full rehearsal details will be sent to families shortly, and the following ensembles will be performing in the wonderful Melbourne Recital Centre on Tuesday 11 September at 7.00pm:

Big Band
Orpheus Choir
JSD Sforzando Strings
JSD Bandit
JSD Musique du Coeur
