Finally making it back to the movies

Our Year 11 VCE Media students were thrilled to be back in the cinema recently. With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, no masks were required and plenty of choc tops were enjoyed.

As part of their Australian Stories area of study, they watched the documentary Girls Can’t Surf at Lido Cinemas. Directed by Christopher Nelius, the feature film profiles a group of female surfers who sought equality and change in the male-dominated sport of surfing throughout the 1980s and 90s.

We are hopeful that the students will be able to return to Lido for a screening of their own short films in the near future.
