At the conclusion of Term 2, Junior School students were involved in many wonderful major performance experiences. Piccolo Canto choir sang a range of lively songs they have learnt with a particularly British flavour, for a very appreciative audience.

Following on from our Year 1 and 2 choir, our Bumble Bee Choirs in Years 3 and 4 showcased their progress as choristers in their respective choir and performed in the Ian Woolf Auditorium at the Lower Primary assembly to a capacity audience of both students and invited family and friends.

Rounding out our concert series, all of our major ensembles performed at our Winter Concert. This was a wonderful night that celebrated the breadth and depth of musical offerings here in the Junior School, including Los Bandidos, Metcalfe Strings, Vivace and Bel Canto choirs as well as Plecstrum fretted string ensembles. All students are to be heartily commended for their fine efforts, with a special mention to our Year 6 soloists for the evening, Abigail Su and Yuna Kim.

As we head deeper into the new term, Year 1 students in particular are looking forward to an upcoming incursion with composer, musician and instrument maker, Jon Madin. Year 1s will experience making music in a very different way with Jon’s wacky instruments, including ding boxes, stationary cycles and so much more!
