Recently Year 9 Art students spent a fantastic day at Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA) working with artist-in-residence Esther Stewart. Stewart is a Melbourne-based artist and architect, who creates paintings and installations that explore the visual language of architecture, design and geometry. The students had an opportunity to hear Stewart talk about her practice and then participate in a range of hands-on activities that explored creative-thinking strategies, colour, shape and composition.
While at the university, the Year 9s also had an opportunity to visit the MUMA gallery and the Monash Art, Design and Architecture studios.
