After a successful completion in 2022 and 2024, we warmly welcome another installation of Carey Live – an exciting collaboration with Making Media that brings together the student journey and real-world alumni experiences.

This innovative project has given students a unique opportunity to step into the world of journalism, broadcasting and storytelling while connecting with Carey alumni from a range of industries including Project Management, Music, Law, Journalism and much more.

Through a series of workshops and on-air experiences, students learnt the essentials of radio production, interviewing and content creation. Guided by media professionals and mentors, they developed their own radio segments, conducted interviews and explored what it takes to engage an audience authentically.

The interviews will air on Tuesday 28 October on LIVE FM, which you can access through their website or app (App Store or Google Play). We will host a launch event at Carey on the day where parents, staff and guests can come together to tune in and hear the students’ broadcast on LIVE FM. More information to come!

A highlight of Carey Live has been the involvement of Carey alumni, who generously shared their professional journeys in industries spanning Media, Business, Education and the Arts. Their participation offered students a real-world perspective on how passion, resilience and curiosity can shape meaningful careers and real impact.

The energy surrounding the initiative reflects Carey’s commitment to hands-on learning and to nurturing connections across its vibrant community. Carey Live not only amplifies student voices but also strengthens the ties between past and present generations of Carey Grammarians – celebrating the power of storytelling and shared experience.
