As the year draws to a close, there is much to reflect upon after another busy year in the Performing Arts program. Concerts, recitals, shows: all opportunities to showcase the abilities of our students, and the scope and depth of the program. And while it is always important to reflect, it is also important to look ahead to what is to come.

This was clearly seen at this week’s Twilight in the Quad performances from the 2026 Symphonic Band, Stage Band, Big Band, Senior Chamber Choir, Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony. After only three rehearsals each, the groups all performed with enthusiasm and at a standard that is exciting as we consider how much they will continue to develop in 2026. Thank you to Isaac, Callum, Mackenzie and Grace, our Performing Arts Captains for next year, for so ably leading us through the event. Congratulations also to Kate, the recipient of the Jason Digby Bursary for commitment and leadership within the ensemble program.

Remembrance Day was marked with the playing of 'the Last Post' and one minute of silence. Well done to Year 8 student Spencer whose beautiful trumpet tones rang out in the Middle School forum. This is a significant undertaking and Spencer handled it with the required calm and sense of occasion.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the Carey Community Carols!
