This term, students have access to up to 19 different Sport and Activity offerings, ensuring that every young person has the opportunity to explore their passion, challenge themselves and find their place within our diverse sporting community. Whether on the water, the court, the pitch or the field, it has been wonderful to watch students embracing these opportunities with enthusiasm.
The coming weeks present several major occasions in the Carey sporting calendar:
Head of the Schoolgirls Regatta
Saturday 14 March
A significant event for our rowing community and a celebration of hard work throughout the season.
Head of the River
Saturday 21 March
One of the most iconic sporting events of the year, showcasing the strength and unity of crews from across the APS.
APS Swimming and Diving Finals
Tuesday 24 March, 3.00pm–9.00pm
Our swimmers and divers have been training intensely for this culminating event and are looking forward to representing Carey at the highest level.
APS First Team Finals Series
Featuring semi‑finals and grand finals for Girls First Teams, and grand finals for Boys First Teams.
Our Girls Touch Football Team is currently in a strong position, sitting second on the ladder and demonstrating excellent cohesion and growth throughout the season.
While the excitement of Summer Sport continues, preparations for Term 2 are already underway. Winter Sport First Team trials and pre‑season training have commenced with great energy. Students have been eager to develop skills, gain experience and begin connecting within their new teams as we look ahead to another positive and engaging season.
We are pleased to share that the Sport Office team has recently completed the Carey Sport Handbook, which brings together all key information relating to the Carey Sport and Activities program. This resource is designed for students, staff and parents, and we encourage everyone to take the time to read through it.
