Greetings from the CLI Library! We are kicking off the year with displays to celebrate the amazing work of the Australians of the Year. The photo above is of the display created to draw attention to and connect the wonderful work of Isobel Marshall with possible reading ideas. Our usual promotions of two books each week continues with a Young Adult and Adult book. See Daily Messages, posters and school screens for these regular highlights. Very soon we will be celebrating the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Ox with colourful displays.

We are very excited to be introducing Year 7s to our library packed with lots of fantastic resources for reading and research to support their learning and wide reading. During their first reading session in the library, Year 7s will explore the library with the help of a quiz, during which they’ll be able to pick up their wide reading book. We encourage all students from Years 7 to 10 to have a book on the go all the time and to find time in each day to relax and to read. If e-books or audiobooks is what works for you rather than hard copy books, then we have plenty of those to choose from too. See Library Resources on CareyLink to access the catalogue and the e-books.

Last year we introduced a Library Instagram @carey.library. Connect with us as we talk books, share ideas, and go on new adventures together! Look out also for student recommendations.

Finally, we also welcome Linden Carroll back to Carey and to our library team after a period working in public libraries. She is an enthusiastic reader and a great person to ask for reading recommendations.
