A new program dedicated to Years 5 and 6, recognising these important years in a child's life.
Given the significance of these years, and the unification of Junior School at the Kew campus, Carey has a new program for Years 5 and 6 students, supported by the development of a new Years 5–6 Centre from 2028.
Shaped by current research into how young people learn and develop, the program will help students become curious, confident and resilient, with the skills to shape their futures. The new precinct will provide them and their teachers with the space, care and opportunities students need to thrive, contemporising our approach to teaching and learning in ways that optimise student engagement, motivation, wellbeing and academic growth.
Years 5–6 Centre Artist Impressions
Construction of the Centre will take place throughout 2027 with final touches to be finalised before Term 1 commences in 2028. This will mean our students and teachers can begin the new year in the Centre together, united at our Kew campus, and ready for the year ahead in an exciting and inspiring new precinct.
The introduction of the new Years 5–6 Centre will enable the School to explore expanded enrolment opportunities at Year 5. We are pleased to welcome inquiries and applications from families interested in joining the School at this entry point, particularly girls, as we build a vibrant and balanced Years 5–6 community.
