As we cross the halfway mark of the 2021 school year, I would like to take this opportunity to celebrate the unity of our JSK community and to thank you for your continued support and generosity. During Term 2, we were delighted to be able to host our annual Mothers Day breakfast. It was lovely to share the event with our children and a joy hearing the cheers during the Olympics Kahoot Quiz. Together we raised $584 for The After Shock – a charity established by a young Carey alum raising funds and awareness for high mortality cancers. Your generosity continued during the Literature Festival where, together with the JSPA, we raised $400 at the afternoon tea for the Indigenous Literacy Fund. Concluding the term, the JSPA donated $1000 to the School for the Children’s Literature Mural for our Little Library. We are delighted to be able to contribute back to the School for the benefit of our children and we thank you for assisting us to make this happen.

I invite you to join us at our next JSPA meeting which will be held on Tuesday 27 July from 7.00pm online. This is our first meeting for the term and an opportunity for you to meet and hear from Kylie Baxter, our new Head of Junior School. We also welcome you to join one of our various event sub-committees (with no obligation to join the JSPA Committee should you not wish to do so). Please contact our secretary, Sarah Broadbent, should you wish to find out more information about our sub-committees or to join us our next meeting.

I look forward to reconnecting with you all soon.

Stay safe and well.
