The annual JSPA Fathers Day Breakfast was held on a very chilly Friday morning on 30 August. Junior School Kew children and their dads, granddads and special friends enjoyed a sporting-themed breakfast including party pies and sausage rolls alongside the always-popular pancakes.
Following a blessing from Carey’s Middle School Chaplain, Scott Bramley, 60 teams played in the hotly-contested ‘Sports Spectacular’ Kahoot quiz. The winners were the Carey Legends team who, after sitting near the top of the leader’s table for several rounds, were ultimately victorious. The Carey Legends team took home the coveted gold trophy and all of the children from the first, second and third placed teams received a medal. Congratulations to our winners and to everyone who participated!
The JSPA thanks the many people who contributed to the success of this event. In particular, the JSPA would like to thank Luke Jensen and the Alliance team who provided an excellent breakfast that was decorated to match to our sporting theme. Thanks also goes to Matteo Annetta, Lucy Woolhouse and Scott Bramley for assisting with the formalities, Audrey Duncan for preparing the Kahoot Quiz, Carey’s Maintenance Team for assisting with pack-up and to Lisa Stewart for her general support. Finally, thanks to the JSPA’s own Geordie Nehme, Kathy Vlahos, Anne Bladeni and Nisvan Erkal.
The charity partner for this year’s event was MensLine Australia and $2 from every ticket sale was donated to this important service.
