At Carey Donvale we support a young girl through International Needs. Her name is Mwajuma Nafuuma, she is 11 years old and she lives in the south of Uganda. Mwajuma lives with her mother, who is a single parent, and one older brother. Their home is a mud house in a small rural village in southern Uganda. Her mother gets some work as a peasant farmer but their income is not regular and does not sufficiently provide for the family. Mwajuma goes to school and enjoys numbers and netball. She helps at home by collecting water for the family and helping her mum cook.
Our financial support enables Mwajuma to attend school with a uniform, books and school bag. She also receives medical care and nourishing food. Our support also assists her family in the participation of community support groups. The offering that students bring for Chapel services as well as other events during the year contribute to the support of Mwajuma.
