Academic Scholarships
Carey offers Academic Scholarships each year to students in Years 7 and 10.
Carey Baptist Grammar School is pleased to offer a limited number of Academic Scholarships at Year 7 and Year 10 in 2028.
Current and prospective students can apply.
Scholarships usually cover 50% remission of tuition fees only. They do not cover the cost of application and entry fees, books, uniform, digital devices or consolidated charges (which include compulsory camps and excursions).

Year 7 Academic Scholarships
- Registrations Open: Monday 19 October 2026

- Supplementary Examination Date**: Wednesday 10 February 2027
Year 10 Academic Scholarships
- Registrations Open: Monday 19 October 2026
- Registration Closing Date: Friday 29 January 2027
- Late Applications Closing Date*: Monday 1 February 2027
- Examination Date: Saturday 6 February 2026 at 2.00pm
- Supplementary Examination Date**: Wednesday 10 February 2027
* Incurs late fee of additional $150.00
** Incurs fee for supplementary exam service of additional $160.00
The registration fee for 2028 Academic Scholarship applications is $110.00. Late applications will incur a late fee rate of $260.00 ($110.00 plus $150.00 late fee). Parents requesting the supplementary sitting service will incur a $160.00 fee in addition to the standard registration fee.
Remote testing fee is $180 in addition to the standard registration fee. Please note that remote testing is only available to students who are living and studying interstate, overseas or a significant distance from the testing school. It is not available to students who are on holiday or travelling.
Fees may change year to year without notice.
Application process
To apply for a scholarship for entry at Year 7 or Year 10 in 2028, please click on the relevant link below and follow the online instructions.
Registration for all scholarships is available online from mid-October to late January in the year prior to entry. Students undertake the scholarship test in the February prior to their proposed year of entry, e.g. in the February of Year 6 for Year 7 entry. All candidates are contacted in due course to learn the outcome of their application.
Scholarship testing
Scholarship testing will take place on Saturday 6 February 2027 at the School. The examination for Year 7 scholarships will take place at 9.00am and the examination for Year 10 scholarships will take place at 2.00pm.
Once you have registered online you will receive more information closer to the testing period.
If you are not able to attend the scholarship testing day on Saturday 6 February 2027, please email info@edutest.com.au as soon as you complete your scholarship application.

Additional requirements for Year 10 Academic Scholarship applications

Results
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the relevant school section to arrange an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will receive notification once the selection process has been finalised, along with a copy of the test results. This process can take several weeks to complete.
