Spring is here for Carey sport

With the spring season now well and truly on, I’m pleased to report that our Athletics and Water Polo teams are performing well in their respective competitions. Our First Boys Water Polo had an epic win on the buzzer against Scotch last weekend – their first win for the Carey First Boys for 13 years! Well done also to our Girls Middle School team who won their first game for the season, defeating Caulfield Grammar 11–6.

Our Girls and Boys Athletics Teams are now three weeks into their season, having competed in the season opener at Doncaster and the Twilight meet at Duncan McKinnon last Friday. Strong numbers have been evident in our Year 7 group and we look forward to our Senior students performing well over the coming weeks leading into the APS finals in October. Training sessions will occur in the September holidays. Check the Carey Athletics page on CareyLink for all details.

JMB Fundraiser
A huge thanks to the Carey community for the wonderful support of the JMB Foundation at the annual orange JMB Day on Saturday 3 August. We have raised in excess of $6000 for the foundation which will go directly into supporting programs for those affected by acquired brain injuries. A letter of thanks from JMB to the Carey community from can be accessed here.
