AFLW Premiership star returns to Carey

Recently crowned AFLW Premiership player Kim Rennie returned to Carey in May to be interviewed by Heather Hebbard as part of an ongoing project to interview Old Carey Grammarians for Archives in the lead up to the school’s centenary. Earlier this year Kim was a member of the Western Bulldogs side that defeated the Brisbane Lions in the AFLW Grand Final, capping an impressive debut season in the competition.

Kim arrived at the Bulldogs in the middle of last year as a rookie list signing, having previously focussed most of her sporting energies on basketball. Following an injury to captain Katie Brennan halfway through the season, Kim was elevated to the main playing list and ended up played five games on her way towards the premiership at the end of the season.
