Carey is undoubtedly a place of inspiring learning, and it is also a community with strength of spirit and a commitment to empowering our students in every way we can.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Carey community for your support, compassion and solidarity. There has never been a more important time for our community to come together and support those who are experiencing the worst impacts of this pandemic.
A special thank you to everyone who has supported the Carey Student Fee Support Fund. Every cent we raise together supports families in economic stress to ensure their children can remain at Carey throughout the year. We have also received generous support for the Fund from the Junior and Middle School Parents Associations, the Carey Local and Overseas Students Association and the Old Carey Grammarians Association. These organisations have played a pivotal role in supporting families through these tough times.
We have all been uplifted by the support from our community and it has affirmed for us what we already knew: the Carey community is strong, united and supportive, and will band together in times of need. An alumni and current parent who donated to the Fund recently wrote to us:
‘When I was at Carey in the late 80s/early 90s I saw some mates have to leave when their parents lost their jobs. It was sad for everyone. Hopefully this helps a little bit towards someone in the same predicament.’
There will be challenging months ahead and, for some, the most difficult days may be yet to come. If you would like further information on the Carey Student Fee Support Fund, please visit our website or contact Stuart Galbraith, Head of Advancement on 9816 1522.
