On Friday 20 November, girls from across the APS and AGVS competitions were treated to a ‘Come and Try’ cricket clinic at the Carey Sports Complex in Bulleen. The clinic also included expert tuition from current Australian Cricket Captain, and Old Carey Grammarian, Meg Lanning. Cloudy skies and light rain did nothing to dampen the girls’ enthusiasm as they took part in a variety of cricket drills – each designed to sharpen their skills and improve their game.

Students from all of the different schools mixed happily, as Meg worked her way around the drills, offering personal advice and tips as she went. Meg has a big summer ahead of her, including leading the Melbourne Stars in the first ever Women’s Big Bash League. We wish her well.
