Concert Band

The Concert Band is the more advanced of the two Middle School bands.

It consists of about 75 students and rehearses after school. Most players are in Years 8 and 9, with around 18 players from Year 7.

Students can enter Concert Band in Years 7 and 8 by audition and invitation, provided they have had previous ensemble experiences.

The following are some works performed by the Concert Band in recent years.

Fortress by Frank Ticheli and Eire by Melanie Donahue.

The band performs regularly throughout the year at events including:

• Middle School assemblies;
• Middle School concerts in May and December;
• Whole School concert in September;
• Melbourne Schools Band Festival .

There is a rehearsal camp in April.
