Senior School Co-curricular Music Groups (Years 9 - 12)

A Cappella

A Cappella is a a fully auditioned group of up to 16 skilled singers in Year 10 to 12 only.

Student involvement and commitment

The group is formed at the end of Term 1 and rehearses twice a week.

Opportunities for performances:

  • School Concerts;
  • Church Services (often by invitation);
  • the Carol Service;
  • Leavers' Service.

The choral program for this group extends vocal skills and individual musical understanding. Singers are often required to hold a part individually and much of the program is unaccompanied.

The repertoire is wide-ranging and carefully balanced to suit the skills of the voices within the group. Members of A Cappella must be members of Senior Choir and, in many cases, students in this group have individual singing lessons (although this is not a pre-requisite).

A Cappella recordings
Two CDs have been made in recent years which have included solos and duets.
