Applications

There are three main ways students may be able to study VCE subjects not offered at Carey: Distance Education, Language Schools or other providers.

Students wishing to enrol in a VCE subject outside Carey must enrol through Carey as their Home School, as well as the second provider.

Any students wishing to undertake such programs must make an appointment with the VCE Co-ordinator to discuss the requirements for enrolment.

These subjects count towards the student's VCE program, and a modified timetable load can be negotiated with each student. There may be additional costs associated with external programs.

Distance Education

The opportunity exists for subjects not offered at Carey to be taken via Distance Education. Although this is not the ideal avenue to undertake VCE studies, course work is sent to students at Carey via the Distance Education Co-ordinator. Students will be required to keep in contact with their teacher at the Distance Education Centre and ensure that all work requirements are completed and mailed or sent via e-mail on time. Supervised outcomes and SACs are undertaken at Carey throughout the year.

Language Schools

Students wishing to undertake languages in VCE other than those offered at Carey, may be able to undertake these studies either at the language schools distributed throughout the Melbourne Metropolitan area, or through the Distance Education Language School.

Other providers

Students may be able to undertake subjects including Dance by enrolling with an external provider.
