Unit description

I'll believe it when I see it!

Can our eyes deceive us? This unit explores the use of visuals in stories, especially picture books, the media, film, computers and how we 'read' these. Students explore the way visuals can add and shape meaning through the use of colour, shape, perspective, light and shade and other techniques. Through this unit students' writing and speaking skills will be further developed as they complete a variety of tasks based on analysing techniques that are used by others.

There will be a creative component to the unit with the students applying their knowledge of these techniques to their own publications.
