The annual Middle School and Senior School plays are highlights in the Carey Drama Calendar. All students in the Middle and Senior Schools may choose to be involved. Staged in the Memorial Great Hall, the productions feature beautiful sets, costumes and lighting and provide the students with an opportunity to be involved in a professionally staged show in front of a wide audience.

The Senior School production (Years 10-12) is presented in Term 3 each year with auditions held for Years 10-12 during Term 2. The style of play selected for performance varies from year to year and may be comedy or drama. Recent productions have included  Pygmalion, Sweeney Todd!, Cloudstreet, Cyrano de Bergerac and Much Ado About Nothing.

Rehearsals take place on weekdays after school and on Saturday afternoons, leading up to an enjoyable and challenging production period. Full houses and thunderous applause are just two of the reasons so many students involve themselves in these exciting events.

The Middle School production (Years 7-9) was presented for the first time in 2006 with a performance of Beauty and the Beast followed with great acclaim by The Secret Garden in 2007 and Aladdin in 2008.  This play is a wonderful addition to the already challenging drama program offered in the Middle School. Rehearsals take place after school and on Saturday afternoons.
