The focus of the photos
in the 2009 School Calendar is community service. This is not surprising
really, as Carey students and staff have a proud history of supporting
a number of local, national and international charities and social
causes in a range of ways. Senior School casual clothes days, breakfasts,
House initiatives and Chapel Services, to name but a few, all support
a breadth of causes. Of course, the IB compels students to complete
Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) as part of its program.
In 2009, all Year 10 students will complete community
service as part of their Religion and Society unit. This exciting
program involves students assisting at several Baptcare locations
close to Carey. More information will be given to current Year 9 students
over coming weeks.
