The Scholars Assembly held in Senior School welcomed our top scholars from 2009 and celebrated their achievements. The Assembly was also attended by many of the former students' parents.
Once again Carey’s Year 12 results were impressive, with 42% of all ENTER Scores being equal to or greater than 90, and 24 students achieving scores equal to or greater than 99.
- 9% of all ENTER Scores were equal to or greater than 99
- 27% of all ENTER Scores were equal to or greater than 95
- 67% of all IB ENTER Scores were equal to or greater than 90
- the average ENTER Score was 83
Two students, Matthew Psycharis and Hannah Wallace, achieved perfect ENTER Scores of 99.95 and were Duces for 2009.
The 24 top scholars were Matthew Psycharis, Hannah Wallace, Will Cameron, Andy McEwan, Jemima Roe, Eleanor Bulford, Anna Carrig, Millie McLean, Meg Bowtell, Emma Worthington, Arlyn Johan, Alice Meredith, Natasha Ascui, Aaron Loo, Emmie Keung, Declan Healy, David Chen, Ken De Jong, Yolanda Redrup, Paul Smith, Russell Pearce, Elly Petroulias, Nick Pryor and Jessica Tay. Fourteen studied for the International Baccalaureate and 10 for the Victorian Certificate of Education.
Most importantly, the students in the class of 2009 achieved excellent results while maintaining a balance between their academic studies and their involvement in Carey’s extensive co-curricular and pastoral programs.
