Class Music lessons build skills and, through participation and listening, extend the children’s experience of various aspects of music. Combining speech, rhythm, movement, dance, and song, the programs allow for differing musical abilities and ensure no child is neglected.
There are opportunities for students to be involved in a range of choirs at several levels, and classes include opportunities to experiment with different instruments.
Learning Development supports any student at Carey who has a genuine difficulty with their learning, including problems with literacy and numeracy, organisational issues and curricula-related anxiety. Learning Development also supports any student at Carey who has a genuine need for extension in a particular area of talent. Within Learning Development, teachers and Allied Education support staff work with students across a range of abilities to help them on their learning journey to achieve their academic potential.
Talent Development programs at Carey allow students to maintain curiosity, creativity and motivation by fostering their skills in thinking and research, and providing extension in their area of talent. Through individual programs, small groups, whole class and whole school activities, students are supported to reach their academic and personal goals.
