General Excellence Scholarships
Carey is pleased to offer a number of General Excellence Scholarships for entry at Year 10 in 2011.
Scholarship selection will be based on excellence in some or all of the following areas:
• academic record;
• leadership and community service;
• contribution to current school;
• sporting achievements; and
• contribution to the Arts.
Applicants will be short listed and interviewed.

Year 7, 2011 Scholarship
On Saturday, 27 February 2010 Carey will conduct the ACER (Australian Council for Educational Research) scholarship examinations (SST Level 1) for entry into Year 7, 2011. The scholarships are awarded for academic excellence and cover tuition fees only.
Applications for the scholarship can be done online through the School website from Monday, 21 December 2009.
If you would like to apply please follow the on-line instructions and fill in the necessary information. Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Diners payments will be accepted. The application fee is $80 and registration closes at 5.00pm on Friday, 19 February 2010. Late applications will be accepted until 5.00pm on Monday, 22 February 2010 and an additional late fee of $55 will apply. No applications will be accepted after this date.
On the day of the scholarship, students are asked to assemble at 8.30am in the Quadrangle. Please park in the car park on Daniell Place and follow the signs which will direct you there. The examination will finish at approximately 12 noon and parents are asked to meet the children back in the Quadrangle. Morning tea will be provided for the students between tests. Please bring 2 HB pencils, pencil eraser, pencil sharpener and 2 blue or black pens to the examination. Rulers, mathematical instruments (including calculators, calculator watches), watches that beep, mobile phones, books or papers of any kind are not permitted.

Successful candidates will be contacted by the Head of Middle School for interviews as soon as the results are known. Unsuccessful candidates will receive a letter from the School when the selection process has been finalised.
