Current Employment Opportunities at Carey

Carey is an equal opportunity employer.

Carey Baptist Grammar School is an independent coeducational school for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. It includes a staff crèche, Early Childhood Centre, a Junior School, Middle School and Senior School. It offers International Baccalaureate Diploma as an alternative to VCE. An extensive program of academic, sporting and co-curricular activities emphasises the development of individual skills and aims to instil confidence and a sense of personal worth in each student. Carey comprises teaching campuses in Kew and Donvale, a sports complex in Bulleen and an outdoor education facility at Toonallook on the Gippsland Lakes.

At the very heart of our purpose is to provide the best possible education for our students. We recognise that this will be achieved by our staff and are committed to attracting and retaining the best possible staff. Our goal is to be an employer of choice via the opportunities and experiences we provide for our staff. Our proposition for current and future employees is that “Carey allows you to be the best you can be”. We are a community of continuous learners and our Professional Learning and Development framework provides for regular review of individual goals and active support in their achievement.

All people employed by the School must be eligible to work in Australia.

All teachers must hold current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).

The School requires all teachers being appointed to a position undergo a Police Criminal Record Check (or supply to us a check not less than six months old) and requires this check to confirm no record of relevant criminal activity as determined by the School.

All teaching staff employed by the School are expected to participate in a range of duties beyond classroom responsibilities. These duties may include, but are not limited to, participation in the pastoral care program, relevant meetings, assessment and reporting, meetings with parents, professional development activities and co-curricular responsibilities.

It is now a legal requirement within Victoria, that all staff employed by schools not holding a current VIT Registration must hold current Working With Children Card (WWC). A Working With Children Check must be obtained before commencement and then retained throughout the course of employment with the School.
